Of Red-Men and Hotdogs

Yeeeeeehaw!

I've been in Flagstaff, Arizona for almost a month now. And to be honest, my hopes of leaving the winter behind in Montana were fruitless. There's more snow on the ground here, than there is in Montana. I can't believe it.

"Believe it" I have to tell myself.

Oh well, nothing I can do but shake my fist at mother nature. Or give her the bird, but I suspect she enjoys that sort of thing.

I've taken up residence at a National Guard base outside of town. It's cheaper than renting an apartment in town, and I find there to be less distractions. But.........but, there's no cooking facilities, only a microwave. And I thought I left the life of living in the freshman dorms behind. Yes sirree, I am dining fine on Tuna, Hotdogs, Chips, Sandwiches, and canned fruit.

Yes, be envious of me. I'll not be gaining any weight while I'm here. I call it the Camp Navajo/Park Ranger Training Program diet. The book should be out in June.

Classes are somewhat mind-numbing, but what can I expect from studying law. We have different lawyers coming in to teach it, and I must say, I'm more confused now then when I was before I starting class. I can see it now, I'll make my first traffic stop, and then POW, I'll be running around in circles muttering about amendments and levels of force. Meanwhile the person I have pulled over will take pity on me, and drive me to the nearest bar to calm me down.

Now if they're a bad person, I think I'm ready for that. For 2 weekends we have practice beating the crap out of a guy wearing a suit of red padding. The "Red-Man". It's fun, but scary at the same time. There's a good chance that this will become a real life situation, and the dummy in the red suit will be carrying a weapon.

Which is why god gives us guns. Woohoo, next weekend we begin firearms, and it should be very interesting to say the least. I'm looking forward to it immensely. I'll be a lean mean law enforcement machine once I get out of here.

You hear that litterer's!?

BEWARE!
